The social network Facebook will face other music video platforms, such as YouTube or TikTok, with its own platform.
Audiovisual content has become one of the most widely consumed formats worldwide, platforms such as YouTube and TikTok have become recurring spaces to which millions of users access daily to consume this content.
For this reason, Facebook is trying to grow in the field through spaces that allow it to spread its musical projects and grow in audience. On this occasion, the social network was given the task of bringing to Mexico a function that was only available to the United States.
Through Facebook Watch, the company seeks to compete directly with other platforms. With this new function, users will be able to browse music videos by genre, artist, thematic playlists or by their mood of the day.
To make the launch even more special, Facebook confirmed the exclusive premiere of Luis Fonsi & Rauw Alejandro’s music video: “Vacío”. The company owned by Mark Zuckerberg also mentioned that each week the playlists will be updated with new official content that will arrive exclusively on the platform.
An example is a cumbia version of “No Drama” by Becky G or an acoustic interpretation of “Ropa Cara” by Camilo.
Although it may seem strange to many, it is a good opportunity for artists to continue growing and also to reach many people with interactions that feel very personal to people.
