Battlefield is set ten years in the future

The new Battlefield that is in the making at Dice would take place about ten years in the future.

That claims the generally reliable insider Tom Henderson. According to him, the new game is simply called ‘Battlefield’ and it contains light futuristic elements, including military robots and advanced drones. Henderson makes a comparison with Black Ops 2, which is also set in the future.

In addition, the game’s campaign would have been significantly overhauled to offer a new experience. Players can choose whether to complete missions for the United States or Russia and switch between them during the campaign. That’s because the playable characters in the game are not from either of the two countries. In addition, the entire campaign could be played in co-op.

The multiplayer is said to feature even bigger battles and is described as “Battlefield 3 and 4 on steroids”. There would also be a battle royale mode in the making, although it is not clear whether it will be available at launch.

Finally, Henderson reports that the game’s reveal trailer has no gameplay or multiplayer footage and is similar to the Battlefield 5 reveal trailer.

Apart from the fact that the new Battlefield is under development at Dice, the above information has not yet been confirmed. It is also unknown when EA will reveal the game exactly.
